Guests often praise the hotel's cleanliness and straightforward amenities. As noted by Ramona Micheli, the rooms are well-appointed, featuring firm and comfortable mattresses, daily housekeeping, and a thoughtfully stocked tea and coffee corner. This attention to detail enhances the experience, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their stay.
However, potential visitors should be prepared for the lively atmosphere that accompanies the hotel's central location. Major sights, such as the Aberdeen Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, are within walking distance, making it a great base for sightseeing adventures.
While the hotel doesn't offer amenities like free parking or a restaurant, it compensates with user-friendly features such as complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms. Guests can also appreciate the efficient self-service approach, evidenced by the easy entry process into the café. Even minor concerns, like a bit of mold in the shower, haven't dampened the overall positive impression left by the hotel.
In conclusion, The Coffee House Hotel represents excellent value with a no-frills approach. Its commitment to cleanliness and essential comforts make it an ideal stop for those looking to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Aberdeen while enjoying a restful night’s sleep. A very good value, no thrills hotel. Clean, with basics covered. Cafe was closed when we arrived (2pm) but we received a text and email with instructions on how to gain entry (quite an easy process). Downside, if you're a light sleeper the noise of revellers outside may keep you awake, stayed 2 nights and it was about 1am before it quietened down on a weekday.
lovely room! loved the mattress! very firm & comfy. bed was made daily which we didn’t expect - absolute plus! tea & coffee corner was filled up every day, too! several hangers for clothes. bathroom wasn’t big but had everything you needed. there was a little bit of mold in the shower which should be taken care of. perfectly located! easy to get to from the train/bus station. many buses close by (we took one to the Highlands). only a few minutes walk to many shops, bars, restaurants. we even walked to the beach. surprisingly silent at night even though there are many bars around! we got there early and were able to leave our stuff until check in! shout out to the cleaning lady who was so very lovely!
Was positively surprised by this hotel. Location wise it is in the city center in the area with many bars, cafes and restaurants (so might be a little bit noisy on weekends, but I’m a good sleeper so didn’t bother me at all), and all major sightseeing places within walking distance. Room was clean, well equipped and seemed like it was recently renovated. I didn’t meet anyone from the staff during my 2 night stay, all communication was through messages and calls, but instructions were super clear, so didn’t have any issues of finding the hotel and checking into the room. There is also storage area in the hotel, so you can leave your luggage before check in / after check out and explore the city luggage free. Considering the price, location and facilities, I give this hotel 5/5
